The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting many people in our state and we wanted to share how Spring Ridge Park is responding to prevent the introduction of this respiratory virus into our community.
We follow the recommendations set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the State Health Department regarding our residents. We are taking temperatures on all residents daily and staying alert to any changes in the health and habits of all residents.
The CDC guidelines and Public Health Orders require that we restrict visitation. We would like to thank our families for understanding and for taking this very seriously. Please let us know if you would like to participate in a video call with your family member and we will assist.
For essential individuals entering the building, including personnel, we are screening everyone at the entry to the building, taking temperatures, and following gloving and masking requirements. As some of those with the COVID-19 virus infection may have no symptoms, many people could be unaware they are carriers.
Spring Ridge Park is on high alert as to infection control, including cleaning of surfaces throughout the facility multiple times with hospital-grade disinfectants. We are following handwashing protocols and are encouraging this with residents as well.
There is a worldwide shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). CDC has sent guidelines for the use and conservation of PPE and Spring Ridge Park has maintained an emergency supply of PPE for these circumstances. Although we expect our supply will be adequate, we cannot waste it as the suppliers are having difficulty replenishing at this time. To supplement PPE resources, we are grateful for volunteers who can provide hand-made masks and gowns to keep our employees and residents safe.
The best thing we can all do is to wash our hands frequently and correctly:
Follow these steps:
- Wet your hands with warm water.
- Apply soap
- Lather the soap in your hands by rubbing them together. Make sure to include in between fingers, under fingernails, and the backs of your hands.
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.
- Rinse your hands really well.
- Use a clean towel and dry your hands thoroughly.
We hope that you’ll join with us and limit the spread of this virus to those that are most susceptible. Our residents and their safety is our number one priority. If you have any questions, please contact us. Stay well!
